About: Network of congregations providing overnight shelter and supporting families – day center staff assist with case management, budgeting, parenting, and life skills. 2-3 month shelter for families (with children or pregnant). Must call to apply.

Safe Harbour (The James Wilson Emergency Shelter)

About: Provides a short term emergency shelter for single females and families. Must be processed through the Carlisle Police Department, NCIC check (background check) before entry and long term temporary housing for individuals and families according to their income, who need more long term care than emergency shelter provides. Additionally, single-room occupancy for permanent housing may be available for low-income individuals based on need or through programs in partnership with the Cumberland County Housing and Redevelopment Authority.

About: Patrice – assists clients needing a one-time rental assistance and/or security deposit help into permanent housing and/or homelessness prevention services with Notices to Quit and Court Evictions. We offer case management services, basic budgeting, life skills, and resources towards economic self-sufficiency while in the program. PPL Operation Help for all PPL electric customers living West of Mechanicsburg.

Kellie – assists clients needing a one-time rental assistance and/or security deposit into permanent housing and/or homelessness prevention services with Notices to Quit and Court Evictions. We offer case management services, basic budgeting, life skills, and resources towards economic self-sufficiency while in the program.
